Christ Church Santa Fe is an eclectic bunch—just like Santa Fe. You're likely to bump into a cowboy, an artist, students, business folks, a mom, single folks, a grandpa, you name it.

Clothing styles vary. Some folks wear jeans and boots, others wear jackets and dresses. Wear what you like. There is no code or norm. If you wear a large duck costume, you might stand out. Then again, you might not. This is Santa Fe.

Sunday schools for adults, youth, and chidren begin at 9:15 a.m. Coffee is available by 10:00 a.m. Grab a cup (we serve killer organic coffee), chat, and mill about until the service starts at 10:15 a.m.. We encourage you to pick up a worship bulletin and visit the Information Table. Browse the bulletin and you'll see all aspects of the service written there. If you have any questions, just ask.

We're for them! Children are welcome throughout the service. This is a worshipping community and not an Ivy League library. We have a trained, friendly, staffed nursery for your convenience. We have a special prayer time for the children during the service where we hand out a healthy snack. Children are welcome to eat the snack during the service (if that's OK with you parents and guardians). During the sermon (20 minutes) the children are invited to attend Gospel Interaction—a kid-friendly class to engage with and learn about the Christian faith. After Gospel Interaction the kids come back into the service to join their parents and guardians for the Eucharist (the Lord's Supper).

The worship service is a dialogue (of sorts) between the community and God. The service includes music, prayers (silent and spoken), readings from Scripture, greeting one another (friendly and brief), a sermon, an offering, the Eucharist (a celebration of an ancient meal also known as the Lord's Supper), and a closing prayer.

No. An invitation to join in the Eucharist is given to all who profess to believe the Christian faith. If you don't believe or are not sure, we ask you not to participate in this part of the service. We would not ask you to do anything that would compromise your conscience or authenticity.

Until we have our new building in spring 2008, we will stay at the community college because we love the venue. Everything we need, including sound equipment, coffee service, and foliage, is stored on large carts and tucked in closets until about two hours before the service. That's when a crew of volunteers comes in and set up the altar, sound system, chairs, welcome tables, coffee bar and classrooms. Within two hours of the close of service, the airy, well-lit hall is ready to serve students for another week as a study area and cafeteria. Kids love it here because there's plenty of room to play tag - inside! Come service time, however, everything settles down into a truly worshipful atmosphere and you'd never know you were anywhere else but church.
